Listening

Get Lucky
With Listening

To get what you want in your career, stop talking and star listening. Listening is not just hearing what some one tells you word for word. You have to listen with a heart. Nothing new ever entered the mind through an open mouth.

The Chinese character for “listening” combines a number of symbols representing the ears, the eyes, and the heart, suggesting that when we listen we also need to give our undivided attention and that we should not rely on our ears alone but should use our eyes and our heart as well. In your opinion, do most the people you know accomplish this goal? Do you?

Famed American author Ernest Hemingway is said to have uttered the following words: “I like to listen. I have learned a great deal from listening. Most people never listen” on the basis of your personal experiences, do you think Hemingway’s conclusion is right? Do more people never listen? Apparently, the corporate world believes there is some one truth in Hemingway’s words. Over the years, a number of American corporation have run advertising campaigns designed to promote awareness of the importance of listening.

Do you believe that you listen well? if you do, you have get some thing new.

See you letter.
